Housing Leadership Council Board of Directors-Gina Melby

Gina Melby served as chief executive officer of HCA Florida JFK Hospital, a 527-bed acute care facility in Palm Beach County, from May 2004 to March 2023. JFK Hospital encompasses various service lines, including cardiac, oncology, neurosciences, orthopedics, bariatrics, and women’s services. It is the county’s leader in emergency care, treating more than 81,000 patients annually.

Gina began her career in healthcare as a licensed physical therapist. She joined HCA Healthcare as the director of rehabilitation services at HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital.

Gina was promoted to chief operating officer at HCA Florida Northwest Hospital and served for two years before becoming the chief executive officer. She led the team at Northwest from 1997 to 2004 and left to become the chief executive officer at JFK Hospital, where she continued to serve for 18 years. Under Gina’s leadership, JFK grew into a multi-campus medical center, with the addition of two free-standing emergency departments, providing four locations throughout Palm Beach County.

Gina earned a master’s in medical management from Nova Southeastern University and a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Miami. She is committed to the local community and active in many organizations. Gina serves on the Business Development Board, the Economic Council of Palm Beach County, and the Housing Leadership Council of Palm Beach County. She is the past chair of the American Heart Association’s Palm Beach Heart Walk and served on the EMS Advisory Council, appointed by the Board of Palm Beach County Commissioners, from May 2014 to March 2023.
