2025 Annual Housing Heroes Luncheon

Nearly 400 guests gathered at the Cohen Pavilion, Kravis Center on May 14th to network and recognize colleagues for building housing that is financially feasible and sustainable for all Palm Beach County residents. Diamond Sponsor JPMorganChase, as well as Silver Sponsors Bank of America, BankUnited, Florida Power & Light Company and PNC Bank joined with a broad range of other sponsors to affirm the importance of highlighting workforce and affordable housing in Palm Beach County. The Lobby Showcase Display gave a visual nod to the variety and number of completed and “in the works” workforce and affordable housing developments throughout the county. HLC Consultant Christina Romelus presented key findings from the Updated 2024 State of Workforce and Affordable Housing Report, offering a clear and data-rich snapshot of the region’s progress and ongoing needs.

Host Tania Rogers interviewed special guest Jonathan Vilma, a former Super Bowl who now focuses on developing affordable housing across Florida. Vilma shared the skills he acquired by participating in sports, including learning to compromise, working with colleagues despite having personal differences or values, and achieving success towards a common goal together as a team.

The surprise and joy of this year’s Housing Heroes Award recipients made for an inspiring celebration. A special moment came with the induction of Verdenia C. Baker as the Inaugural Member of the Housing Hall of Fame, honoring her lasting impact on housing in Palm Beach County.
