The session will explain the proposed changes to homestead exemptions and property-tax assessments, along with their potential effects on homeowners, local government revenue, and public services. Speaker: Dorothy Jacks, Palm Beach County Property Appraiser

Dorothy Jacks was elected as Palm Beach County’s Property Appraiser in 2016. She has served in the office since 1988 and holds the highest professional designation in Florida and one of the highest designations worldwide for someone in her field. Her national and global reputation is built on her decades of expertise and her service as president of the Florida and International Associations of Assessing Officers. She is focused on bringing in state-of-the-art technologies to make life easier for property owners and customers.

Dorothy’s office is staffed by a team of highly-credentialed professionals, setting a global standard for appraisal and assessment practices. In 2021, her office received the esteemed Certificate of Excellence in Assessment Administration, which is the highest honor for a property appraiser’s office.
