The Housing Leadership Council is pleased to present the Home Matters Palm Beach County housing study.  This report gives a detailed overview of our housing situation for both rental and for sale units.  One of the most startling finding was the tremendous cost burden our residents are facing with housing costs. 




Palm Beach County Action Plan Report- March 2016

The Action Plan addresses three funding sources including:

CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) $5,750,879

HOME (Home Investments Partnership Program) $1,530,417

ESG (Emergency Solutions Grant) $522,853

Previous Research and Reports

Inaugural Workforce Housing Needs Assessment & Employer Survey
The Housing Leadership Council is dedicated to providing up-to-date information and research on workforce housing in Palm Beach County.  Our landmark Workforce Housing Needs Assessment was completed in 2006 by Florida International University.  An Employer Survey was also conducted which showed that a majority of Palm Beach County employers recognized the need for workforce housing in order to retain and attract quality employees.

Workforce Housing Assessment Update and Municipal Surveys
In 2007 the Housing Leadership Council updated this initial study and also added a Municipal Survey, which showed the progress of eleven of the largest municipalities and the County, in addressing housing needs in their community.

NEW!!!  Housing Study
Rental housing is critical to meeting the needs of our workforce.  In 2007and 2012 in conjunction with The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties, a Rental Housing Study was completed which highlights the severe shortage of affordable rental housing in our community.
